Account Deletion
At Sailtrax, you have the right to request the deletion of your account and associated data. This guide explains how to request account deletion, what data will be deleted, and what data we retain.
How to Delete Your Account
You can delete your account directly through the Sailtrax app:
- Open the Sailtrax app and log in to your account.
- Navigate to your Profile or Settings.
- Select the Account section.
- Tap on Delete Account.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to confirm the deletion.
Alternatively, you can request account deletion by contacting our support team at support@sailtrax.com. Please send the email from the address associated with your Sailtrax account and include "Account Deletion Request" in the subject line.
What Data is Deleted
When you delete your account, we will permanently remove the following information:
- Your profile details (name, email address, profile picture)
- Your social login associations
- Your app preferences and settings
- Your presence data and location history
What Data is Kept
Some data may be retained after account deletion for legal, security, or operational purposes:
- Transaction History: If you have made purchases, we keep basic transaction records for tax, accounting, and anti-fraud purposes.
- Aggregated Analytics: Anonymized data that cannot be linked back to you may be kept for service improvement.
- Shared Content: Content that has been shared with a "yacht" or a "fleet" that involves other users may not be deleted if it is required for the integrity of their experience.
- Communication Records: Any support tickets or emails sent to us may be retained for our records.
Retention period: Retained data is kept only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined above (typically up to 7 years for financial records) or as required by applicable laws.
